A WSIB Clearance Certificate does not mean the painters are covered. A business owner, or a so called "sub" don't require it. Some painting contractors use "subs" to not pay for WSIB. In fact, a homeowner would still be liable for an injury that could cost thousands.
Ecopainting only uses employees (on payroll) with full WSIB coverage.
Does the Painting Contractor have liability insurance?
It is extremely important that your contractor has all the necessary insurance to protect you and your home. Your homeowner's policy may not cover work covered by third parties. Ecopainting Inc. is insured by State Farm for Five Million Liability Insurance.
Who will do the painting?
You hired Painters to paint your home, why are these less than professional painters painting? Because it is cheaper and easier for the contractor to hire them, but of course riskier for the customer. A "sub" can be disposable labour when work is there, why hire permanent painters? It would take training, including safety training, payroll deductions and commitment to the painters. When you hire Ecopainting, you get owr own trained Painters. Our painters have Fall Protection, WHMIS and First Aid training.

Do they have references, testimonials?
Are they real testimonials? Recent references? Ecopainting has over 130, handwritten and signed testimonials. Many of these same clients can be called as a reference. In addition, we have trade, banking and business references.
Is your Painting contractor really Eco-friendly?
Every one is jumping on the "Eco" bandwagon these days and that's a good one to jump on. But simply using latex or zero VOC paint alone does not make a company eco-friendly. Being environmentally responsible is not an opportunistic marketing ploy, it is a question of ethics. We as Paint contractors are responsible for our chemicals and accountable for the damage they can cause to the homeowners, the painters and our earth. Learn more about our green painting policies.
To us, being environmentally responsible is a mandate and a big part of our company culture.

A cash deal?
There are underground contractors that will offer a "cash deal" to secure a job. Everyone loves a bargain, but in contracting, the risks are too high. Cheating on taxes will save "the contractor" money but the home owner takes all the risk. There are so many stories of "contractors" running away with the cash without finishing the job, insurance nightmares costing tens of thousands, really bad workmanship and other nightmares. Ecopainting provides all our customers with a very detailed proposal. We tell you in writing exactly what we will do and what we will not do. There will be no changes, without a signed authorization form by the customer!
Paints and Materials
Using the right materials is essential to achieving lasting beauty and protection for your house. A Professional Painting Contractor is familiar with the paints and coatings on the market, and can make recommendations based on your needs. A Professional Paint Contractor stays informed in the field by subscribing to painter's magazines, attending courses, working with manufacturer's reps.
What about the warranty?
How good is a warranty if the company is not going to be arround to service it, or the fine print makes it impossible to use it?
Our warranty is customer friendly, meant to be used if necessary. If paint fails, as a result of our work, we will fix it at no expense to the customer. Details of our warranty are in our proposal.
Not all painters or painting contractors are the same.
